NARL Welcomes New Director of Research
On 31st July, the National Agricultural Research Laboratories (NARL) officially welcomed Dr. Robooni Tumuhimbise as the new Director of Research and bid farewell to Dr. Wilberforce Tushemereirwe.

The NARO Director General, Dr. Yona Baguma, officially introduced the incoming Director of Research for NARL to the staff and Advisory Committee of the Institute.
Speaking at the event, the director general thanked the outgoing director for his great service for the last 39 years.
In his remarks, Prof. Tush described Dr. Robooni Tumuhimbise as a man who is always at the forefront. He said this in reference to how Robooni changed the look and life at Rwebitaba Zardi for the short time he was the director. “I am sure now that he has come to NARL, he will take it to the next level.”
He further called upon the management team and whole staff to support the new director and come up with solutions to ensure growth and development at the institution.
“Let that good working relationship we had forged continue with the new director. Think and work together as a team,” said Tush.
The new director thanked God for the grace to bring him bac Home and thanked Prof. Tush for organising a good and smooth transition for him to settle in.
“Tush’s shoes are big to fit,” he said, “But I am going to build on his strengths and create even more opportunities,” he added.
“NARL is a giant that is awake and I wish we make this our slogan,” said Dr. Robooni.
As a leader, he vowed to lead from the front, middle and at times at the end.
