Our Private Sector Partners and Collaborations
The National Banana Research Program (NBRP) has a number of partnerships that support different projects carried out by the program.
Some of these partnerships are with the following organisations and institutions:

Uganda Manufacturers' Association (UMA),
The National Banana Research Program is a member of the Uganda Manufacturers' Association (UMA) which is an entry point for the program to access the private sector.
UMA enables its members to exchage experiences, ideas and to develop new business linkages.

Kazire Health Products Limited is a Company Deeply Committed to Improving the Health and Well Being of People and Their Communities
The Banana Programme has been colloborating with Kazire in carrying out market study on Green matooke Resistant starch, a product from the banana fruit and peel.

Uganda Banana Producers Cooperative Union Ltd.
Uganda Banana Producers Cooperative Union Ltd. A Union representing the entire banana producer's cooperative societies in the country.

TEXFAD Uganda
TEXFAD is an organization that deals in production of handwoven textiles in Uganda. It is an organisation that transforms waste banana pseudo stems into high quality handwoven textiles products.
The Banana Reserach Program collaborates with TEXFAD concerning the commercialization of banana products and other technologies especially fibre and hair extensions.

Nyuzi International Limited (NIL)
Nyuzi International Limited (NIL) is Ugandan local initiative that produces Cheveux Organique, a plant-based Hair Extensions brand made from 100% natural banana.
