The National Banana Research Program (NBRP) has a number of academia partnerships that work hand in hand with the program especially in student capacity building. Some of these include;-

Queensland University of Technology (QUT)
Queensland University of Technology (QUT) is one of the top public universities in Brisbane, Australia. The University has been working with NARO on both research and student capacity building for years.
The research on bio-fortified banana is a collaborative effort between Ugandan scientists at the National Agricultural Research Organization (NARO) and Australian scientists at Queensland University of Technology (QUT), to improve nutritional value of banana in Uganda.

Makerere University
Makerere University has been working with NARO on both research and student capacity building for years.
